Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, and packet analyzers
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security threats and incidents
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and log analysis
Professional Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity roles
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and security posture evaluations
- Track record of responding to incidents, investigating breaches, and implementing remediations
- Familiarity with secure cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Background in consulting, compliance, or government projects is a plus
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset
- Ability to communicate security risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and presentation skills
- Self-driven with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
- Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) is a strong asset
- Experience with penetration testing or ethical hacking
- Exposure to security in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
