Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Experience with data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, pandas, NumPy)
  • Proficient in SQL and working with structured and unstructured data
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib)
  • Ability to deploy models into production and work with APIs, cloud platforms, or containerized environments

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in applied data science or analytics roles
  • Proven experience building and validating predictive and classification models
  • Background in consulting or freelance data projects is preferred
  • Experience translating complex data into actionable business or policy insights
  • Strong understanding of data wrangling, feature engineering, and model evaluation

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams
  • Meticulous with data quality, documentation, and reproducibility
  • Adaptive and resourceful in fast-paced, remote environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in economics, public health, education, or international development is a plus
  • Experience with geospatial data, time series forecasting, or natural language processing
  • Familiarity with data privacy and ethical AI principles
  • Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) preferred
  • Publications, open-source contributions, or data competition experience (e.g., Kaggle) is a bonus
