Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in data modeling, database design, and architecture (relational and NoSQL)
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and data transformation tools (e.g., DBT, Apache Spark)
- Experience designing and managing data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT tools
- Solid knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, and security best practices
Professional Experience
- 5+ years in data engineering or architecture roles
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions
- Background in consulting, with client-facing experience across diverse industries
- Familiarity with reporting and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Metabase)
- Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers
Soft Skills
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and systems design capabilities
- Effective communicator, able to translate business needs into technical plans
- Skilled at documentation and presenting complex data architectures to stakeholders
- Ability to balance big-picture vision with implementation details
- Adaptable and collaborative in fast-paced, distributed work environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment and MLOps practices
- Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) preferred
- Familiarity with open-source data tools and API-based architectures
- Experience supporting international development, government, or education projects
